1) Chambers passing CR test
a) Chambers passing CR test this week: EML3C05, EML3C15
b) Total number of chamber passing CR test at CERN: 26
2) Chambers in progress
EMS4C06: Ready for CR test. Dark current is low and stable, but
tripped twice at night. Test needs to be done over weekend.
EMS5C06: Epoxy done, T sensors and inplane system tested.
EML3A13: Epoxy done, T sensors and inplane system tested.
EML3A05: Epoxy half done.
EML3A11: Epoxy done.
3) Chambers in hospital
EMS5A10: Over half of the tubes on the chamber (long tube side) have
leak rates at the level of 10^-6 to 10^-5 ml/sec. Leak locations
are between the AL ring of the tube ened and the endplugs of both
or and HV ends. leak rate of the chamber is about 8-10 mbar/day
for helium at 3 bar. Applied epoxy to all tubes of both ends. we
will let epoxy cure for three days and then measure the leak rate.
4) Problems and other issues,
a) Safety. The crame operation is almost doubled, bldg184 is pretty
crowed and more people are working around. We do need to pay great
attention to safety issues while operating crane in the bldg.
b) Parts and tools
- Next week we will run out of B sensor platforms.
- Survey target stickers. we have only a few left.
(I am unable to know how many we still need since i don't know how
many have already had them while chamber were produced at UM. Ed,
please help estimate the quantity. if it's hard to trace back, let
first ask 40 stickers and 64 B sensor platform. )
- Cable boot (red and black, 25 each). we need to remake two cables
for each EMS4 chamber. The original ones are slightly short.
- Plastic cups for mixing glue (200)
B sensor platforms and survey target stickers are urgently needed.
I'm sorry to keep asking for parts and tools. however, this is all I
can do. UW is sharing all our stuff.
