Back to B184 updates * Previous * Next
1) Chambers re-working a) Total number of chambers need to be reworked: 30 b) Total number of chambers that have been re-worked: 19 c) Chambers re-worked this week: EML3C03, EML3C09, EML3C07, EML3C13, EML4A11, EMS5A02, EMS5C08 2) Chambers in progress - 3 students, with UW team, worked out 2 chambers, starting from painting epoxy to the tubelets. 3) Problems and other issues - DAQ systems for CR test all 4 systems are working and all are fully occupied. - Gas system in bldg 184. It happened again that the gas ran out due to failure of the automatic switch of the gas system (switch from one bunch of bottles to the other). To solve the problem, the gas group increased the input pressure from 5 to 8 bars. This morning the CO2 ran out. We complained to the corresponding persons. In this case, we do need to watch out the gas pressure ourselves. - mezz cards. About 4 mezz cards that considered to be good cards (provided from the last shipment) are rejected due to low correlation efficiency, high gain or ADS noise. 2 of which are rejected immediately after scanning with bar code reader. About 4 mezz cards that have passed the CR test before and are not in the black list (a list indicating the mezz cards to be replaced from Claudio) fail the CR test due to high ASD noise (we didn't write down exact the reasons of each cards replaced). After weeks raining and cloudy days, we finally has chance to enjoy sunshine. However, if one wants to enjoy the beauty of the fall, or the colorful maple leaves, Michigan is probably better than that around CERN. Zhengguo Zhao
